Located in Moledo do Minho, Maria Moledo emerges as a space that pays tribute to the identity and soul of the place. Inspired by the stories lived by different generations who made Moledo a refuge for gatherings, the restaurant offers an experience that is both intimate and collective — like being in the home of friends.

The identity of this project is rooted in the region’s authenticity, reinterpreting memories, heritage, and horizons. We deconstruct the history of the space, originally the home of architect Horácio Silva and later a restaurant, creating a narrative guided by irreverent simplicity.
The navy-blue and carmine-red tones, combined with contrasting textures and materials, create a bohemian and timeless atmosphere. Elements such as the fireplace, the central island, the painted truss ceiling, and the layered carpet lining reinforce a sense of warmth, almost like being ‘at home’.
More than a restaurant, Maria Moledo is an invitation: to share a table, a toast, a conversation, in a space that embodies the spirit of the Atlantic, the Minho, and the community that brings this place to life.
PROJECT DETAILS
The Persian-style rugs in natural wool, with an aged texture, add comfort and authenticity to the space.
The benches, custom-designed for the space in natural oak and a striking shade of red, stand out as signature pieces.
The deep red of the ceiling trusses infuses the space with energy and character, giving it a strong visual presence.
